Fuck the electoral college.
Shouldn’t you be against decision by majority?
I like Alaska in this picture. It looks so lonely and cold even in map form.
I think the OP is confusing dirt and trees for actual people. Obama won the majority vote last night. It just so happens that the GOP voters like to live in the middle of vast, open land.
Besides, the electoral college exists for a reason, which you are clearly way too uneducated to understand and probably too uneducated to comment about politics.
America isn’t one giant country, America is 50 Nation States who have agreed to form a Union under certain bylaws and to protect certain rights through out all the land in a uniform fashion. And that the Federal Gov’t would be responsible for certain aspects of inter-State trade and relationships, like the Federal Courts, Military and Postal Services.
What happens during an election is that each state votes for who they want as the Federal President and based on population size, they get an equally represented number of votes in the electoral college.
Don’t think of America as 100 million voters, think of it has 50 countries, each voting for a President. It’s not perfect, but politics never is.
Once you realize these two facts (that the red is mostly empty space and that states are quasi independent) you’ll see why the electoral college exists and why you’re an idiot.
