You guys remember that time that we almost stopped Kony while giving the government carte blanche to invade the entire continent of Africa and kill people? Man, we’re so good at saving the planet, you guys!
“To all people who are sending me evidence of Rand Paul’s various heresies, you can save your bandwidth. I’m not interested in saint making or witch burning. I’m only interested in one thing: progressive reductions of the role of all government power in people’s lives all the way to zero if possible. Whatever brings that about, in whatever sector it happens, and whether it happens slowly by steps or all in one fell swoop, I’m for it. I really don’t care who or what makes a contribution to this end or how it comes about, so long as it is ethical and it actually achieves the aim of human liberation, the mother of all progress, order, and higher civilization.” - Jeffrey ‘BAMF’ Tucker.
I apply this same principle to voting. Many libertarians, voluntaryists and anarchists are completely against voting. To me, if you are continually voting to abolish the state, I’m all for it.
A conversation with Austin Petersen.
I had to copy paste our convo and his question into one photo because the convo took place on a different page but over this specific question.
I find it odd and almost surreal that the producer of Judge Nap’s Freedom Watch program and someone who says they champion liberty and freedom and peace is trying to justify government sponsored murder.
I really do enjoy following Jeffrey Tucker. He’s always on point. And sassy as fuck.
Always sassy as fuck.
This is what happens when you debate a clueless person long enough. They end up hanging themselves with their own stupidity.
This individual really thought that citizens weren’t allowed to own or carry guns until the NRA was formed.
If you guys want, I can post the rest of the back-and-forth. It’s really hilarious. She argues that semi-autos should be banned because they are the type of guns that can kill people.
She also said that we should allow home defense but ban guns because no one needs “assault” type weapons. For about 4 comments in a row the only question I asked her was “Is ownership of an “assault weapon unconstitutional. Also, does my ownership of an automatic infringe on any of your rights?” She has posted 20 comments to this status and has yet to answer this one.
Where do I find these people from?
Justin Amash updates everyone on everything he votes along with the explanation and reasoning on via his Facebook account. Even if you don’t support him or his cause or government on the whole, you have to appreciate the level of transparency and honesty.
Gives me a little bit of hope.
21st-century-classical-liberal:
You’re using it incorrectly. Its a great way to pick up breaking news and good news articles. You can also follow various institutes, politicians, and economists.
Why can’t you just do that on facebook and just like all of the institutes, politicians, economists, and news sources? You don’t “need” any friends on Facebook. It can be whatever you want.
Twitter has no point.
Also, that’s partly what my Tumblr is for.
Well, Facebook is horrible. That’s a good reason.
And tumblr is B- for news at best.
Because facebook filters content and trims some updates, links, statuses and such out of your feed. Twitter doesn’t filter anyone out of your stream.
Twitter also has Retweets and easy to follow conversations, where you can discover additional people you’d love to hear more from. Facebook doesn’t do a great job of “sharing” content between people who aren’t friends. Facebook also hides a large portion of a “conversation” once it goes over so many comments.
Then there’s the whole privacy thing. Twitter doesn’t ask for any private information outside of an email and a password. You don’t need to share pictures of yourself, your birthday, your address, none of that. Just make an account and join the conversation.
Twitter is probably the best social media platform that the internet has given us thus far.
