Fascism should more appropriately be called Corporatism because it is a merger of state and corporate power — Benito Mussolini

Congress Can Go Ahead And Ban All Guns

If you haven’t heard, Feinstein introduced the 11th step to fascism new Gun Ban Bill to Congress today. Her stated purpose of the bill, and as I’ve mentioned many times before, is to “dry up the supply of these weapons over time, therefore, there is no sunset on this bill”.

Congress can go ahead and ban whatever they want, the people will find legal ways around it. Just like they did with the bullet button and other innovations, Congress can only build temporary walls because the possibilities of innovation far exceed the ability to limit things. Congress does not have the knowledge or the foresight to ban all things that exist today and that can possibly exist in the future, so it’s only a matter of time until new methods of production are discovered and guns of the same capability and perhaps even greater ability once again, legally, find their way back into the hands of the people.

Heck, this weapons ban might even push for innovations that go beyond physical rounds and traditional guns. Perhaps this will finally bring about the invention of laser guns or powerful air guns or maybe even some other technology that we haven’t even conceived of yet.

Congress is only quasi-capable of legislation but the people are masters of innovation. Like they’ve done before, they will once again legally innovate their way around silly laws that exist through a very narrow and backwards thinking lens.

So I say to Congress, go ahead and ban what you want and watch the people peacefully destroy your position on guns while efficiently bettering their own.

Sometimes I wonder…

If there is no such thing as one true, static, sustainable for of government, and that includes anarchism or absence of government and that the reality is that humanity will always move between near anarchy to near totalitarian fascism and then back to near anarchy and so on, slowly passing each phase of government on the way there and back through various chaotic, violent spurts.

Perhaps we are, doomed if you will, into living in this cyclical political environment where society continues to functions while having to adapt to the ever changing form of rule, much like stock brokers and investors have to tough it out through the booms and busts of the market all while the overall general trend in the extreme long-run has always been progress. Much like the market, perhaps society is always progressing, just in different ways during different times and under different types of political rule. Perhaps some eras help us improve our farming and others help us improve our technology.

While some eras of this political cycle seem to be more violent and others, we have no choice but to experience them due to the very nature of some men, those who seek absolute power, and we are forced to wait for the action of others, those brave enough and wise enough to save the rest of society from eternal servitude.

Maybe this is the ying and yang of life; struggling between complete oppression and unbridled freedom, learning valuable lessons from the battle between the two.

You know what is really interesting? Naomi Wolf’s book covered all but the eleventh step. Though I really liked her book The End of America, I was shocked that she never brought up the subject of disarmament. She is progressive, so there are obvious reasons why she wouldn’t talk about this—and she had touched on the subject briefly in her book, but this list is identical to hers. I liked her book, but she worked on the Gore campaign, and that made me kind of suspicious. Controlled opposition, perhaps…?

Interesting. I’ll check that out.

Yeah, it’s actually a really good book. It’s nice to see that there are some people on the left who understand what is happening to this country. Though, Wolf was pinning the blame on the Republicans. The fact that she basically pinned it all on Bush and campaigned for Gore really made me OTL

I think a few on the left get it. Sometimes Rachel Maddow seems like she gets it and then she shits the bed and endorses Obama and other extreme statists.
In reality, we can probably blame every president going back a 100 years, maybe even 200 years, but Bush’s era of politicians really stuck the knife in us. I think I personally blame Bush, also. But there’s too much guilt to just bury Bush alone, I also fault his cabinet, the GOP and the Democrat congressmen as well.
