untillallareone asked: So you combine the acquisitions of Google(Boston Dynamics, Nest, etc), their other projects(automated driving, google glass), and their reach across the internet melded with the NSAs ability to hack/backdoor into pretty much all technology, and then you look at DARPA, Skynet is more or less here, just not self-aware.
It makes you wonder, too, what else Google is planning on acquiring this year.
I mean, what else is left? I’m honestly surprised Wikimedia hasn’t been acquired by them yet.
Google just bought the AI company, Deepmind.
More people need to forget Google anarchei.me/post/18… There’s a link on that page that will get you a copy of Chromium, basically Chrome without the Google tracking.
I still haven’t decided if I’m willing to let google sell my internet data in exchange for all the services I get.
I’m probably leaning towards ‘no’, but all these ‘private’ companies haven’t had the best product thus far.
I’ll give Chromium a shot.
What I really want is to just pay Google $300-$500 a year (that’s about what a single user’s data is worth) so that they don’t track my data or at least keep it 100% anonymous.
If Google ever came out with a pay-for service, I think a lot of people would opt-in for it.
